CANADIAN HIGH (1980)
The corn is high in the field and the
moon is low on blue skies
Connecticut’s borrowed some northern
air for a while
Tonight she’ll look like a plum, all
black but shining some
When the crystalline weather comes I’m
always smiling
Canadian High, under blankets in July
I love to see white clouds come a
rollin’ by
Canadian high, there’s a million more
stars in the sky
And mommas’ children don’t cry in a
Canadian high
Under a crystal stratosphere, the
visibility is so clear
The Berkshires seem like great whales
on a rolling sea
Tonight we’ll sleep in moonlight, it’s
gonna bathe our bodies in white
And hope for more of this atmosphere in
the summer season
Canadian High, under blankets in July
I love to see white clouds come a
rollin’ by
Canadian high, there’s a million more
stars in the sky
And mamas’ children don’t cry in a Canadian
high
